A Week of Flowers – Day #7

Here is my Day #7 offering of floral photos for A Week of Flowers hosted by Cathy of Words and Herbs. Sad to see the week come to an end, but will look for an invitation to participate next year–this was fun.

Today I’m sharing a few of the “sunny” colors from my garden. I hope they brighten up your day no matter what season you’re enjoying in this beautiful world.

As I mentioned in my previous post, my blogger handle is Barefoot Lily Lady. A name derived from my love of barefoot gardening and a passion for daylilies (lilies of any sort, really).

People often ask me what colors I like in my garden. I find it impossible to choose just one or two…so I love them all. For years I did gravitate toward purples and pink. Then I had grandkids and started planting their favorite colors too. Before long, I had lots of splashes of yellow, orange and a few reds.

they won’t be here for long

“You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.”

Psalm 65:11-13

“…they shout and sing together for joy.”

I love sharing about my barefoot gardening adventures, hence my blogger name. As I write, some of my other passions might spill out -- like fun with grandkids, baking and sewing endeavors, what I'm studying in Scripture, and the like. My readers will notice that one of the primary things I write about is Alzheimer's. May what I write be an encouragement to anyone who is a caregiver for someone they love with memory loss.

  1. Your momma’s hat sits well on you. Lovely to have it. I’ve got mam’s costume jewellery butterfly.
Your colours are pretty much mine too… Yellows, orange & mustards.

And your quote is a good one!

  2. The quotes are good and I love all your wonderful flowers! So much warmth and colour. It does me good to see them! All your sunflowers are amazing and I love that first photo in the meadow. And you have a yellow peony too! Thanks for sharing your joyful flowers this week, and I do hope you will join in again next year! 🤗
