On May 12th, I shared this photo and wrote, “I can’t wait to see how this year’s chair garden fills out.”

I added, “I’m already enamored with its beauty. I’ll keep you posted.”
Well, here’s the June update!

She is lovely! The clematis is perfect winding through the chair.

We had a super heavy rain, which kind of beat up that clematis, so I’m really glad I took a picture before that happened. There are still loads of unopened buds, so I’m sure she’ll regain her loveliness again. Thanks for visiting.

This is so charming. I love succulents and appreciate when they are in raised containers to make them easier to see.Great project bfll!

Love this, Cindie. You’ve created a slightly whimsical and wholly appealing composition.

Thanks so much, Mitch! I’ll take that as a high compliment from someone who has an eye for detail and beauty.

I love this idea! How did you make the container for the soil?

Thank you. I removed the seat, fashioned a basket out of chicken wire and stapled it around the opening. I then fitted it with a previously used “coconut” fiber hanging basket liner. Have a wonderful weekend!

Chicken wire. That’s a good idea. Thank you. The next time I see a disgarded seat up at the rubbish bins I am going to rehome it and try this

What a great idea! Is there emotional significance to the chair – was it your mother’s?

Thank you! This chair doesn’t have a personal family history. It’s a freebie that a homeowner set at the curb. I call these finds “roadside treasures.”
