One of my great blessings this summer has been having our grandsons helping out in our garden. Charlie, Henry and George were extremely helpful yesterday morning.

Every carefully tended garden needs a grandchild smelling the flowers and stepping on the hostas.

It brings me joy to join our host gardener Jim Stephens at Garden Ruminations each week for a ‘Six on Saturday’ gathering of gardeners anxious to show and tell.
“Edith” is a beautiful iris!

Love that you are managing to get your grandsons gardening. My grandchildren at 4 years and 5 months are a bit young to help out but they have each been shown a rose that I have planted that shares their name and my grandson has a bare patch of ground that he digs for worms and will ‘weed’ if needed and he enjoys watching the bees in the flowers.

I am planting flowers which share the names of my children and grands as well. I’m still looking for a George, a Mia, and a Noelle. Have fun gardening with your sweet little grandchildren. Take lots of photos. 🌼

Drat, I have a dead branch in my crab apple too. I am worried it may be too close to the power line to manage. My husband says it isn’t, but we also don’t have the right tools.

I’m pretty sure you can rent those pole trimmers at Home Depot. We are waiting for the baby robins to fledge before trimming out more. And there are a few higher branches that need the pros to trim.
